Butter makes it better. I am all about making your day better and my lil mama always said butter made you feel better. So I wrote A Butter Song, and made two new t-shirt designs inspired by my love for butter and things being better. Butter, it brings me joy. 

 

Sometimes a little innocents is exactly what we need to wear. That’s why I made these 60s kitty cat chore tshirts and a song to go with. The embroidered art of the kitties doing chores highlight what a 60s homemaker would have done in such a cute way.

I used the art from the tea towels my mother had embroidered in the 60s. Her mother had made the tea towels from flower sacks —  they have a lot of love stitched into them.

Laying still, I ask my mother if she would like to have a visit – she’s in Heaven. She pretty much always says yes. I usually get to the cloud first. Sometimes the clouds are rather bumpy and I have to focus on walking over the poofiness and not falling off. Once I find a spot, I sit, rarely am I laying on a cloud. My mother just appears. I never see her walking -I am not sure why. Maybe they don’t have to walk to in Heaven.

 My sister is a year younger than me and when I started school she was lonely during the days so she made up a friend ‘Mrs. Brown’ and was apparently quite content spending her days with this lady. I am borrowing a page from my sister’s brain and will create pretend visitors throughout my home alone isolation time. My sister is quite sane today (well she was then too) and is a leader in the mental health world so I believe it’s a good strategy.

I have been looking for ways I can help in today’s chaotic Corona world and it seemed that as someone who has worked from home for 25 plus years - which kind of seemed like living at work sometimes – I could share my tricks and tips on working from home. I worked alone and with teams (from my home studio) on multi-million dollar, international and local accounts so we had our share of small and large business to handle- all from home.

What is National Napping Day?

This is a sort of unofficial holiday in which the benefits of catching some extra ZZZ’s is appreciated. The holiday was invented to spread more awareness of the positive health benefits of taking a nap. Nodding off, even in small 20 to 30-minute increments, has been shown to improve awareness and energy.
